Guacamole
Over the course of the summer, I’ve kind of gotten into making guacamole. My dad has started asking me to make it for almost every family gathering or party that we have.
Guacamole is actually a lot more time consuming to make than it seems, because it has so few ingredients. However, chopping everything to the right size can be a huge pain, especially when you’re not using a large knife.
The best thing about guacamole is that its few ingredients are all very wholesome. Plus mayonnaise.
For a successful guac, you must have everything chopped up as fine as you can. You want everything to fit on the tortilla chip without being too chunky. (Note: Only 1/3 of the red pepper was used)
Mmm, mashy. I had to add another avocado because I was being a bit of an airhead and didn’t stop to think that maybe putting a giant tomato with only one avocado wasn’t the brightest of ideas.
The moment you’ve all been waiting for; mayonnaise.
Now, even though the label claims that one drop does it, they really mean “several large splashes”. You can never have too much hot sauce.
Finished product! I had a picture of some guacamole that was actually plated nicely, but it looked too yellow for my liking. You’ll have to deal with a messy mixing bowl picture.
Ingredients:
- Avocado
- Tomato
- Bell pepper
- Green onions
- Cilantro
- Lime or lemon juice
- Mayonnaise
- Tabasco sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
No measurements this time, you can pretty much add as much or as little of everything as you like. Don’t overdo the mayonnaise, though.
