RAINBOW CAKE
Now, while I do enjoy making cake, I’m not the type of person who likes to go all out. I usually go for quality of taste rather than worrying about what my dishes look like. However, when my friend, Cadi, (who I had the birthday party for last week) asked me to help her make the cake for her little brother’s 3rd birthday, how could I say no?
She had already made the cakes the day before, so all we had to do was fill and ice them, all six layers.

You can’t really tell, but the cake has a pink layer, then orange, then yellow, then green, then blue, then purple. It is much more distinct when cut.

Cadi taught me the importance of a crumb layer of icing, which is a thin layer of icing that prevents the cake from crumbling when you ice it for real.

We were going for the Leaning Tower/Salvador Dali look.

That’s me, concentrating my butt off because I don’t know how to pipe icing.

Ta-dah!

Sorry, no recipe this time. The cakes were from a box mix, but any white cake recipe will do. And I already posted an icing recipe last post. A savoury dish is coming soon!
