Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

Every food blogger has to put at least one of their favourite chocolate chip cookie recipes up on the internet, and I am no exception.

Well, I don’t have any ONE favourite cookie recipe, but it’s definitely one of the better ones I’ve tasted.

Blending the margarine and sugars (An important first step!)

The best part!

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/3 cups unsalted butter or margarine
  • 1 1/3 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2 cups oatmeal flakes
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • pinch of salt

Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F
  2. In large bowl, cream butter with both sugars until fluffy. Beat in eggs and vanilla.
  3. In a separate bowl, put together flour, baking soda and salt. Stir into batter. Add oats and chocolate chips, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Drop small spoonfuls of batter onto greased cookie sheet and bake for 10 minutes.
  5. Makes about 4-5 dozen. If you don’t want this many cookies, wrap any excess dough in parchment paper and freeze it for later.
